Construction
The exterior cabinet is free standing and insulated with CFC free polystyrene blue-green baked enamel on Galvanized steel or Stainless steel based on request. The interior is a Stainless Steel reflective skin offering uniform light reflectance. The floor pan is constructed of 22 gauge stainless steel, sloped towards a drain. The machine compartment contains all the controls, and internal refrigeration system. Easy access to the compressor and refrigeration components is by an external maintenance panel. This means servicing is accomplished without disturbing the mushroom . All handles and door hinges are heavy duty chrome finish. Door has keyed magnetic lock, protecting researchers valuable experiments.

Lighting:
The standard light intensity is 1000 micromoles/m2/s using T8 fluorescent lamps or LED Lamps adjustable from 10% to 100%. Dimming ballasts provide precise control over light intensity. Meditechs own Closed-Loop Light Control maintains precise intensity of programmed levels from 100 to 1000 micromoles/m2/s.

Eliminate product stability problems

Standard surface finishes for cold rooms include baked white enamel powder coated Mild Steel, with SS extrusions to join panels. For exceptionally corrosive environments SS panels are available as best option. These options are usually avoided except in extreme cases.
Air Flow Pattern
Our center-mount, low velocity air handler provides an umbrella airflow pattern which envelopes the room with conditioned air, providing maximum uniformity (1.0C or better) without the need for lay-in ceiling tiles which are difficult to clean and represent a prime location for mold and spore growth over time. All cold rooms are equipped with precision 100 ohm, 3-wire platinum RTD (Band 5) temperature sensors and thin-film polymer capacity humidity sensors with hermetically sealed microprocessor transmitters, representing the latest in sensor technology
Principles of Operation.
Balanced against a small refrigeration load, resistive heaters are finitely pulsed with a PID controller to maintain precise temperature control even at near-ambient temperatures, while maximizing energy efficiency. Humidification works on a similar principle: While the evaporator coil provides a small, but constant, dehumidification effect, ultrasonic transducers pulse water vapor back into the room for finite control. Meditech cold rooms do not use steam boilers, which are subject to corrosion over time, represent a high energy load, and introduce and independent and uncontrolled heat source within the room.
