A vacuum chamber is a rigid enclosure from which air and other gases are removed by a vacuum pump. This results in a low-pressure environment within the chamber, commonly referred to as a vacuum. A vacuum environment allows researchers to conduct physical experiments or to test mechanical devices which must operate in outer space (for example) or for processes such as vacuum drying or vacuum coating. Chambers are typically made of metals which may or may not shield applied external magnetic fields depending on wall thickness, frequency, resistivity, and permeability of the material used. Only some materials are suitable for vacuum use.

Chambers often have multiple ports, covered with vacuum flanges, to allow instruments or windows to be installed in the walls of the chamber. In low to medium-vacuum applications, these are sealed with elastomer o-rings. In higher vacuum applications, the flanges have knife edges machined onto them, which cut into a copper gasket when the flange is bolted on.

Operation

 

Burhani Pack-vac leak detectors can perform vacuum test in less than 10 to 30 seconds. The Unit is partly filled with water for vacuum leakage test. The burst test can be done dry. Drop your sealed package inside the chamber, close the lid and engage the vacuum lever. Watch for bubbles in case of leakage.

What is an Ice Lined Refrigerator?
Ice-Lined refrigerators are designed for storage of vaccines, pharmaceutical products, blood bag and samples etc. at a temperature range of 2°C to 8°C. They have a lining of Ice packs hence the name. For long hold-over times should there be a power failure, a PUF insulating material is provided. They can maintain optimal temperature of 2°C to 8°C even at 43°C. They are mainly used in the vaccine cold chain.

Vacuum degassing is the process of using vacuum to remove gases from compounds which become entrapped in the mixture when mixing the components. To assure a bubble-free mold when mixing resin and silicone rubbers and slower-setting harder resins, a vacuum chamber is required. A small vacuum chamber is needed to eliminate air bubbles for materials prior to their setting. The process is fairly straightforward. The casting or moulding material is mixed according to the manufacturers directions.

Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) is the process of treating the finished coils with varnish by placing it a vacuum chamber.  First, the transformer is placed in an oven and heated to approximately 100 to 125 ??C. This heat treatment drives out moisture from the insulation which could otherwise compromise the insulation.
After heating, the transformer is placed into the VPI hot. The advantage of doing it this way is that it makes it easier for the varnish to penetrate the insulation to the maximum extent possible since the viscosity of the varnish goes down as it is heated by the coil.
Next, the coil is placed in the vacuum chamber and a vacuum is pulled ‘dry’ on the transformer.   The varnish is then admitted into the chamber and the vacuum is pulled ‘wet’.  Finally, the chamber is pressurized to 100 psi completely filling the coil and insulation with varnish, and then varnish is finally pushed out of the chamber.    This results in a coil that is totally saturated with varnish (with atmosphere dip it is only partial).  The insulation will then have its maximum dielectric strength and will not absorb moisture (key to longevity).  Also, because varnish is a good adhesive, it has better mechanical strength.  In addition, because varnish is a good thermal conductor, it runs significantly cooler.
The benefit of VPI on the plate transformer is that it reduces the temperature rise by approximately 20%, making it run appreciably cooler and quieter.  And the result of that is greater reliability and extended life.  This is recognized throughout the transformer industry and is backed up by numerous studies
