Both test methods can be performed in our CDV - VACUUM CHAMBER clear acrylic tank for packaging leak detection. Method 1: ASTM D5094 Testing Standard is performed in a DRY TANK The operation of a dry chamber test is the same as all other tests performed by our package leak detectors, however the failure point of a package is not identified by an air bubble in the water bath, but rather the presence of a liquid leak within the dry tank. Method 2: ASTM D3078 Testing Standard is performed in a TANK FILLED WITH WATER Bubble leak testing will give you a visual of any leaks, and may also be used for any package to determine the burst (or failure) point of the seal.
